Welcome to Missouri S&T Catering on the Missouri University of Science and Technology Campus! This guide details the functions and capabilities of Missouri S&T Catering at Missouri S&T and describes services available. The complete range of service is not limited to the selection in this manual; we attempt to meet all the unique needs of each individual.
Room reservations for the Havener Center are made through the Havener Center Operations Office. Please call 573-341-4399 to confirm a room reservation prior to placing a catering order or email reserve@mst.com. Missouri S&T Catering is not responsible for room setup; please inform Havener Center Operations Office on your setup when booking your room reservation.
We kindly ask that you submit your catering order three (3) weeks prior to your event to assure ample time for appropriate staffing, the ordering of linen and the very highest quality of product. Although we make every effort to accommodate last minute requests, we require 5 business days notice before your event date.
Complimentary tastings are designed for weddings as these guests typically have never tried our food. We have had an overwhelming amount of requests for tasting events therefore we now have to charge for tastings unless it is a wedding. It costs us food and time to put tastings together. If you wish to have a tasting for your event the price will be predetermined by the menu and multiplied by the amount of plates (typically 1 plate per 2 people) at the tasting.
The primary purpose of the Catering Department at Missouri S&T is to provide outstanding service to the university as well as the surrounding community. We will be more than happy to work with you if you would like to hold your catered event off campus. Please contact our Catering Department at 573-341-7019 for more information, delivery fees may apply.
Please let us know your final number of participants at least 72 hours prior to your event. We will make every effort to accommodate last minute increases however; this may result in necessary menu revisions. The event location and or venue should also be contacted with final numbers to ensure proper arrangements. If a final count is not received, we will consider the amount indicated on the original order as the guarantee. The guarantee is not subject to reduction after the deadline. Your billing is based on the final guarantee, if the number served is higher, we will charge accordingly. If your number of guests exceeds the final guarantee then a 15% fee will be charged on the exceeded total. Should Missouri S&T be closed due to weather, all events will be automatically cancelled. Please contact the Catering Office to reschedule.
A service time of two hours is included in all event menu pricing; please notify the catering office if there will be a program during the meal. Events exceeding the two-hour time frame will incur a $15.00 per hour, per attendant service charge. For meals that start more than 15 minutes after the event scheduled start time the client will be charged a $25 per catering front of house and back of house employees. For every 15 minutes after that additional charges will be added.
A charge of 3% with a $35.00 minimum will be applied to all off campus events.
Functions requesting tax exemption must provide necessary form and ID number before the time of the event. A copy of the final arrangements and the necessary billing information will be sent to you. Please review all the information for your event: date, time of delivery, set-up, and food/beverage order. If we do not receive confirmation, the preparation and billing will be based on the original reservation contract. Services may be paid by cash, check, or credit card (Visa, MasterCard, or Discover) or by providing your Missouri University of Science & Technology account number. Payment terms are net 30 days for University customers. Non-University customers will be required to provide a 50% deposit of the guarantee, and the final balance is due 2 business days prior to your scheduled event. In the event that the bill is not 100% paid 2 business days prior to your event date your event will be cancelled and 60% of the estimated costs will be charged. In the event your group will be arriving later than scheduled, please notify the Catering Director as soon as possible. All cancellations of food service should be made no less than 72 hours prior to your event. Events cancelled within 1 business day of event and no shows will be charged 100% of estimated costs.
All prices in this brochure are a guideline, and are subject to change depending on raw food cost. You must contact the Catering Office for a current price quote.
OUR POLICY: Food safety is a high priority for Missouri S&T Dining Services. We adhere to our corporate “Quality Assurance” department regulations which exceed standards for NRAEF ServSafe and the 2005 Missouri Food Code regulations. Our policy is that there will be no credit given or carry out of food not consumed at your event. We prepare an abundant amount of food to ensure that your last guests receive the same quality as your first guest. We enforce our leftover policy to minimize the risk of food borne illness due to improper handling or storage of leftover food items. We appreciate your cooperation.
HOT & COLD FOOD: We do not allow removal of hot or cold leftover food by the customer. For the safety of you and your guests, foods that need to be hot or cold, will be removed after one and half hours by catering staff.
NON PERISHABLES: We can leave or pack leftovers that are safe to consume, such as leftover cookies, brownies and other non-perishables, if the client requests beforehand when placing their order. The client will assume full responsibility for any liability as a result from consuming leftover food after the event. Under no circumstances can leftover hot or cold food be given to guests.
DROP OFF CATERING: For all drop off catered events, acceptance of the order by the customer releases Missouri S&T Catering from all claims and liability of food borne illness at any time following the point and time of delivery. We will give you instructions on how to keep the food safe.
All catering equipment and supplies are the responsibility of the host/hostess for the entirety of the event. A minimum charge of $50 will be added to your invoice for any item found missing upon pickup. Missouri S&T catering is not liable for any equipment, supplies or personal belongings left in public areas.
University approval for consumption of any alcohol at any event held on campus must be obtained through the office of Havener Center Operations at 573-341-4399. To provide adequate staffing and the Alcohol Beverage Permit must be completed and delivered to the Catering office at least two (2) weeks prior to your event.
Chartwells is pleased to offer a 10% discount for any event held in the Havener Center by a University Recognized Student Group. Look at the new Student Group Catering Menu for specials and updates.
For buffet/plated events any event under 20 guests will incur a catering attendant charge to cover the labor of the catering attendant. All buffet/plated events over 20 guests will include the proper number of catering attendants at no additional charge. Should you desire additional catering attendants, a charge of $20 per attendant per hour will be added to your invoice. Bartenders are available at $25.00 per hour. As a standard, all catering orders are set up with china service in the Havener Center. China service is available outside the building for an additional $3.00 per person. Disposable service is also available.
Basic linen service will be provided for all buffet and served meals. Any specialty linens or colors must be requested in advance and will incur additional charges. If additional linen is needed for registration or skirted display tables, additional fees will apply.
Changes to your order must be made at least 72 hours prior to your event start time. (No Exceptions) Changes to your order can only be completed by the billing or delivery contact. If you are not on the order we cannot make changes to the order.
